Riley's first solid food!

Riley has been so interested in watching us eat lately and often tries to swipe food out of our hands...so we started her on rice cereal today. What a milestone-she is getting so big!

Weekend in Port Townsend

Gramps rented a van and a house near the beach and treated us to a weekend getaway in Port Townsend! We had a blast taking the ferry, playing on the beach and relaxing in the pool - even if we didn't get much sleep (see the last picture)!

We used to take day trips to Port Townsend when I was little and although this park had been updated - it was the same spot I used to go on the tire swing 20 years ago.

The Elevated ice cream shop - delicious!

Dinner in the backyard of the beach house.

Nate at the beach. Every time we went to the beach he immediately ran up to the water and shouted "shoes off" and then ran in. He loved it and Riley enjoyed watching him splash around.

Let's just say Nate made sleeping pretty difficult for everyone. After a very sleepless night here he is trying to rouse Dad in the very early morning while simultaneously watching Dora.

Riley's first haircut

I gave Riley her first haircut yesterday. I was afraid to touch the top so I just relieved her of the mullet she was rocking. I cut off about an inch of her precious hair.

Riley and Nate playing in Nate's room. Nate is holding "purple whale" and "blue dolphin" and they go most places Nate goes these days.

Riley has entered the curious stage and loves to touch anything and everything around her - here she is checking out Nate's hair.

Rileybell is 5 months old today! We went to a baby shower this morning and she looked so pretty in pink!

Sir Nate loves to wear these glasses around the house.

Lightning Reunion

Today we had our first official Lightning soccer team reunion at a park in Fox Island. I played on the Lightning soccer team year round from 2nd - 12th grade and the team was my second family. It was great to catch up with everyone and see all our little ones play together!
The players, husbands, and kids!

Meg, Riley, Lucas, Alison

Lucas and Riley were born just 2 days apart and they finally met for the first time today! Lucas and Alison live in Sweden.

Husky Picture Day

On Saturday Gramps took Nate to Husky Picture Day - a Kieffer family tradition that is continuing with the next generation. Nate got to run around the football field, meet the players and cheerleaders, and eat free hot dogs...what a day! Thanks Gramps!

Nate and Gramps on the husky helmet.

Nate next to a giant W - his favorite letter!

Summer fun!

Nate, Dad & Riley at a friend's birthday party.

Nate enjoying a splash in our neighborhood pool.

Riley is finally rolling...sort of...this is what she does when rolling from her back to her tummy! It's a lot later than Nate started rolling but I think that is because we hold her so much that she hardly gets the opportunity to try. :)

Riley loves to keep busy in her office.

We saw this bald eagle at Pine Lake Park, just a few minutes from our house.
