Nonno

In loving memory of my old buddy Nonno.
He served in all the major battles of WWII and was a police office for over 30 years. He will always be remembered for his war stories, pulling our chains constantly, and his super dooper milkshakes. We love you old buddy and are at peace knowing you are reunited with your Isabel (Nonnie).
12/13/21 - 12/26/08

We all gathered in Springfield for Nonno's 87th birthday just 2 weeks ago (it was a last minute trip so Nate and Mesh stayed home). In this picture: Joey, Cameron, Nonno, Mom/Noni, Andy, Sadie, Riley, Meg.

Tree and Gingerbread Train

Nate and Riley enjoying the tree! I was allergic to the real tree we got...long story but I should be okay next year if we cut it down fresh...so we got this skinny fake tree for this year but it's doing it's job.
Christmas jammies

Nate's finished gingerbread train wreck! :)

We loved putting the gingerbread train together - I think this is the first time I've ever done a gingerbread house/train and it shows! We had a lot of fun doing it but we both ate a bit too much candy.

Auntie Val looks disapprovingly at our mess!

Santa and snow!

The Iyer stockings - in height order!

Nate and Riley meet Santa at the zoo - it went over pretty well! ;)

We are in the middle of a fantastic snow storm here in Washington - just a normal amount of snowfall for the East Coast but here it shuts everything down. (Nate insisted that he wear my big pink gloves and that Riley wear his gloves...whatever keeps him happy in the stroller so I can get my exercise in!)

The Iyer family enjoying (most of us anyway) the snow!

This was the first time we all got together! Nate is 2 1/2 years-old, Riley 8 months, Sadie 5 months (Andy & Val's daughter) and Cameron 2 months (Joey & Sabrina's daughter).

Thanksgiving in Calabasas

We headed down to California with Gramps to spend Thanksgiving with Andy, Val, Sadie, and Val's mom and sister. Later in the weekend we also got to see Joey, Sabrina and Cameron (next post). We all had so much fun!

Andy and Meg playing Guitar Hero (my first time playing...can you guess what I want for Christmas?!)

Short clips of the Iyer duo

Story time! Nate recites the book Milk and Cookies to Riley until he is distracted by her bow.

Riley just recently started clapping - watch her in action!

Nate, Riley and I go to Kindermusik every week - here is Nate singing his current favorite song, Hot Cross Buns!

Nate just recently realized that although we call him Nate, Nater Patater, Naters, etc. he also has a full name. He used to look at me like "Who's that?" on the rare occasion that I would say "Nathan" and now he's really into being Nathan Kieffer Iyer. 2 year-olds are hilarous...and 8 month olds are pretty darn cute!

Splish Splash!

We have doubled the fun of bath time since Nate and Riley started taking a bath together a few weeks ago. They have a blast splashing, playing and making each other laugh!

Pumpkin Patch!

We had a lot of fun at Fall City Farms pumpkin patch today! And we did everything there was to do there: got lost in the haystack maze, saw animals up close, took a hayride, ate homemade donuts and fresh apple cider, took pictures by pumpkins and scarecrows.....and oh wait-we forgot to actually pick pumpkins! Nate and I ran up to the grocery store tonight and got some good ones though! :)

It was Riley's turn to wear the pumpkin costume to the pumpkin patch - Nate wore this on his first trip to the pumpkin patch 2 years ago!

I love that Riley is laughing at Nate in this picture. Just recently she started laughing at him when he has high energy (which is quite often) and he loves the attention!

Green Sheep Play

Today we saw the Green Sheep Play at the Seattle Children's Theatre with a bunch of our buddies. We all went last year as well but the kids seemed a little more into it this year. The stage is decorated like a sheep pen and the kids get to sit inside as the actors and puppets move around the outside. It was Riley's first play and she loved it!

The whole gang (almost-two couldn't make it to the play). We all met when our first kids were less than 4 months old.

Nate, Riley and Addie enjoying being sheep! Nate cried for about 20 minutes when he had to stop being the yellow sheep...he was a little bit obsessed with it to say the least.

Mommy, Riley and Nate posing next to the sunny sheep on a very rainy Seattle day. (I need to work on holding Riley better when she is wearing a dress-whoops!)

NYC/NJ Weekend

We took a quick trip to the East Coast last weekend but we sure packed a lot in while we were there!

The Iyers meet niece/cousin Cameron - 2 1/2 weeks old! In this picture: Sabrina, Joey, Cameron, Meg, Riley, Nate, Ramesh.
We also got to see Aunt Raji and Uncle Josh, my cousins Katelyn and Jason, Gramps (he traveled with us) and our good family friends Becky and Terry Scholl...busy and very fun day in NYC!

I love this picture - these three kiddos kept us quite busy! I can't wait for November when all of the cousins will gather in California for Thanksgiving...we still have yet to meet our niece/cousin Sadie!

Nate's NYC nap with Dad and Auntie Raji looking over him.

Our dear friends Bryan and Janine (my college roomie) and my beautiful Goddaughter Jenna! I am honored to be her Godmother! We wish we had more pictures from the baptism but Mesh couldn't man the camera because he was holding both kids.

Fall is in full swing

Riley and Nate going to our first day at Toby School. We are in a co-op sibling class so all 3 of us go to school together for a couple hours once a week. This is Nate's second year.

Nate carrying his lunchbox into school...he wanted to go in by himself.

My little pumpkin.
