Long Weekend in NYC

We went to NYC Friday through Monday night - it was a quick trip packed full of fun. We were so happy to meet our newest family member Mina, see the rest of the Margolins, Badamma, the NYC Kieffers and college friends!

We stayed Friday night in NYC at Joey, Sabrina, Cam, Colin and Kieran's apartment.

We spent Saturday in Brooklyn with Badamma, Auntie Raji, Uncle Josh, Jessa and Mina!

Saturday afternoon I took the kids to the Freedom Tower. (Mesh was on a trip and didn't arrive till Sat. night.) The first picture was taken on my 23rd bday when I was newly living in NYC and out celebrating my bday 3 days before 9/11. Very emotional visit but we witnessed a couple get engaged on the top of the tower and it was a beautiful moment. Thank you NYC - my once home and forever love.

Sunday morning run through Prospect Park

Uncle Josh arranged for a private tour of the Natural History Museum - so much fun!

Rileybel

Less than 3 weeks after we discovered I have Celiac Disease, we learned today that Riley has it too.  While it is a total bummer, I am glad that we were able to catch it early for her.  We had all three kids tested for the gluten antibody and only Riley came up positive (the boys will be retested every year) and then the follow up endoscopy confirmed the diagnosis.  Riley was very nervous for the procedure but she did great!  She celebrated one final gluten filled day with donuts, cupcakes and chicken fingers from her favorite restaurant. Mother and daughter are on this gluten free journey together - we can do this!

Ri and Olivia out to dinner - Liv gave her that headband, so sweet!

Baby it's cold outside!

It is a cold start to the new year, but that doesn't keep the Iyer kids indoors.  Riley had a soccer tournament outside this weekend, which was kicked off by a game at 8:30 Friday night with the temperature in the 20's!  While Riley was off playing soccer, the crazy boys enjoyed time running between the hot tub and dipping their toes in the partially frozen lake.  Brrrr!
