NYC Trip

We are lucky to have family and friends to give us lots of reasons to come back to NYC for a visit.  We were 22 year-olds when we arrived in the city, fresh out of college and just a month before September 11th. We will always Remember. New York will always have a special place in my heart and a little piece of me will forever be a New Yorker.  

We haven't been on the East Coast during winter for many years, but our sweet new niece inspired us to bundle up and make the trip. We had a great week with family and friends and feeling like 20-something's again...20-something's that go to bed at 9pm with the kids, drink tea, and schlep lots of stuff around...okay so we felt like the 30-something's we are-but we embraced it!

Sunday
A long flight was quickly forgotten when we arrived early and had time to see Noni, Uncle Joey, Aunt Sabrina, Cameron and Colin before heading to our hotel in Times Square.

Monday

We spent the day in Brooklyn getting to know our niece/cousin Jessa and spending time with new parents Auntie Raji and Uncle Josh. We are all over the moon in love with Jessa!

Then at night we met up with the NYC Kieffers, Noni, and my cousin Jason, his wife Eagen and their adorable son Liam for dinner at Rosa Mexicana.

Celebrating Riley's birthday a month early because she wanted to celebrate with family... and all the kids wanted cupcakes. :)

Tuesday
We spent time with our cousins and went to the Empire State Building with Noni.

  

Looking out where we lived when we were first married - the NYU Medical Center. Life was glamorous then in our tiny studio apartment. ;)

Wednesday

We walked over to Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral in the morning and then spent the day in Brooklyn with Jessa and Auntie Raji. We took Jessa on her first subway ride, went ice skating in Prospect Park, and then stopped by to see Alison, Bill, and Rowan on our way back into the city.

Thursday

The highlights of Thursday were visiting the M&M's store at 9am and bowling at Chelsea Piers with our friends Jermaine and Katherine.

Friday

We had Friday to fit in some more sightseeing before flying out at night. We fit in a lot: Bryant Park, the NY Public Library, FAO Schwarz, Central Park, the famous frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity 3, and Dylan's Candy Bar. No wonder we were tired!
