Christmas Season is here!

It was the last day of school for 2018 - see ya next year was shouted through the halls at the end of the day...that never gets old! We have been enjoying the Christmas season all month.

Oh Christmas tree!

The stalkings were hung by the chimney with care.

Nate taking the SAT - he may have been the only 7th grader there among 11th and 12th graders. He took it as part of the Duke TIP program and Johns Hopkins CTY.  No pressure, no studying, just jumped right in and beat my score from the first time I took it in 11th grade!

All 3 have a bit of a break from outdoor games so they are playing indoor with their teams.

On December 12th just before 11am, the high school I work at went into lockdown. For 3 hours I hid under my desk in my office with a student with Autism.  It was a long, scary three hours for the staff and students at my school, and no student should have to live through that. I spent the day keeping my friend calm and quiet and texting my family and friends. Part way through I got a text from Nate asking if I was okay. He goes to middle school down the street and everyone was talking about the lockdown.  We need to do better for our children.
We had already bought tickets for Enchant in Seattle that night. I was almost going to cancel after a long, emotional day, but I'm glad that we went and enjoyed the beautiful lights of the holiday season.
